Salute to Music that Makes You Dumb

Did you see this chart yet?  A Cal-Tech grad student took great pains (ok, it was probably easy as h-e-double-hockey-sticks) to figure out which rockstars correspond to high SAT scores.  I love this chart because my score on the SAT almost corresponds perfectly with my favorite band The Counting Crows.   There are two things that amaze me about this chart:
  1. How incredibly accurate the information is in respect to the people I know.  For instance, I know a lot of morons who love the bands in the below 1000 score

EDITOR'S PICK

Salute to Beachbody Contest Finalist: Kristi McLean

Have you ever hit the lottery?  Not like a $5 scratch-em card but like, a $1,000,000 prize?  Well, the husband of this Orange County housewife sure did!  Kristi McLean, a resident of Orange County, CA has dropped over 100 pounds since last July.  Kristi is on the verge of winning $250,000 as a result.  More importantly, her husband has hit the jackpot. "Haters" will suggest that Mrs. McLean (by the way, is thing rigged?  last name Mc-LEAN?  hmmm...) still has a… Continue reading

Up Yours: Pussycat Dolls Live

Watch that video, please. Have you watched it? Are you sure you've watched it? That my friends, is the Pussycat Dolls live in London. Did you think there was some sound issues with the video? Well, guess what? You're wrong. I just watched the show on Palladium (an amazing music channel by the way), and it was awful, and I am angry. Why was I watching the show you might ask? Well, the television was on in the other room at about 3:30PM today. I heard the music, and I needed some Continue reading

HUGH's CORNER

The Bachelor (AKA - The Crying Game) - Up Yours

I'm mostly writing this 'cause my cyclist post was average at best and, despite being somewhat ashamed with myself for watching the Bachelor last night, I have to admit it was good television and ABC milked it well.  And before I power on, my excuse for watching, for those wondering such things, is that I live with my GF, we have one TV, and, in case you don't ever talk to girls, they don't miss the Bachelor...EVER.  It's really a genius show.  It's absolutely everything a girl wants in a television program.  It's got other girls they can rip on Continue reading

MORE S.UP.Y.

Michael Phelps, Up Yours…Again

If Michael Phelps' life was a Disney movie, which it pretty much is, then we'd be at the point now where his fame has totally gotten to his head, he's finally started crawling out of the skin he's always been too uncomfortable in, thinking he's too cool for his old friends, not returning their texts in favor of texting with Ashton Kutcher, having a strange fling with Lindsey Lohan, starting to do drugs ('cause London's not 'til 2012, man...'), and apparently wearing the sunglasses Paris Hilton sent him to sponsor her accessories line.  Ugh.  This would mean that his teammates Continue reading

Presidential Debates: Up Yours

Was it great to watch Obama and McCain duke it out?  Yes, of course it was.  Was it particularly insightful, or groundbreaking?  Hardly. Politics is treated like religion.  Nobody goes to church with an open-mind; people aren't interested in taking thoughtful notes, and weighing their options.  People who go to church are anxious to to be convinced that there is in fact a God.  (They get dressed up, and drive in ON A SUNDAY MORNING; I think their minds are already made up!  They believe!)  They are already set in their beliefs before they ever set a foot inside a temple Continue reading
